How does the one-time act of receiving baptism connect to the everyday life of Christians? In this panel discussion, a group of pastor-theologians will reflect on the relationship of baptism as a worship practice and sacrament to baptism as a lived identity. We will discuss aspects of baptismal history, theology, and contemporary practice with wisdom from Kevin Adams’s forthcoming book Living Under Water: Baptism as a Way of Life (Eerdmans 2022). Panelists will share stories and insights from their own lives, scholarship, and ministry experience that demonstrate the significance of this central Christian practice. This panel features Kevin J. Adams, Lisa Rodriguez-Watson, and Lisa M. Weaver, moderated by Noel Snyder.
