How We Are Funded

Basic support for the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship is provided by Calvin University. The university has also established an endowment fund for the Worship Institute.

Many of the programs and projects of the Worship Institute are made possible through generous grants from Lilly Endowment Inc., a private philanthropic foundation based in Indianapolis, Indiana. It provides funding in three major program areas: religion, education, and community development, and it is interested in initiatives that benefit youth, foster leadership education among nonprofit institutions, and promote the causes of philanthropy and volunteerism.

While the Endowment's grant making focuses primarily on projects in Indiana, it also provides funding for programs that are national in scope. The Calvin Institute of Christian Worship is one of several religion institutes, programs, and/or projects related to the initiatives of the Endowment.

The Worship Institute also received a program grant from& The Henry Luce Foundation, Inc.
