Illustrated through the art form of jazz improvisational music, the Frederick Douglass Jazz Works illuminates the themes of tragedy, grief, despair, and injustice of American slavery through the multi-faceted prism of hope, joy, perseverance, and triumph - all with Frederick Douglass’ own words.
